Description :
The Cation Exchange Resin is a high-capacity, gel-type strong acid resin designed specifically for high-efficiency water softening. Engineered with a polystyrene matrix and sulfonic acid groups, this media is the gold standard for removing Calcium (Ca2+), Magnesium (Mg2+), and other hardness-forming elements that cause scaling in pipework, geysers, and industrial equipment.
Key Features & Benefits
Superior Limescale Reduction: Effectively eliminates the root cause of scale buildup, protecting your kettles, dishwashers, and hot water systems.
Advanced Ion-Exchange Technology: Replaces hardness ions with sodium or potassium ions to deliver "soft" water that is gentle on skin and plumbing.
High Durability: Specifically formulated for use in FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) vessels for both residential and commercial water softeners.
Reliable Performance: Optimized for a wide working temperature range (1°C – 45°C), ensuring stability in various South African climates.
How It Works: The Softening Process
Hard water contains dissolved minerals like magnesium and calcium. As water passes through the Cation Resin bed:
The resin beads attract and "trap" the hardness ions.
These ions are exchanged for sodium or potassium ions.
The result is soft water that prevents white crusty buildup and improves the lathering of soaps and detergents.
Good to Know: To maintain peak efficiency, the resin beads require regular regeneration (recharging) using a brine solution (sodium chloride).

Maintenance & Vessel Loading Guide
For optimal performance, resin should be replaced every 12 months, or as recommended by your water treatment specialist. Below is the standard bag requirement guide for common FRP vessel sizes:
844 Vessel: 1 Bag
1054 Vessel: 2 Bags
1354 Vessel: 3 Bags
1465 Vessel: 4 Bags
1665 Vessel: 6 Bags
2162/2472 Vessels: 10 – 14 Bags
What’s in the Bag?
1 x 25L High-Capacity Cation Resin (Approx. 25Kg)
Note: This media is designed for installation inside an appropriately sized FRP vessel with a manual or automatic control valve.
